No doubt, the Nigerian music industry has been buzzing with hits upon hits. This is going to be a music review so let’s get into it.
1.Bandana: if you haven’t read my post about Fireboy’s new album, I think you need to check it out. Bandana has literally been my favorite jam so far and I can clearly understand why it is ranked at No.1
2.Terminator:Ololade mi Asake! This man has blessed us with 2/3 hits in just 2 months! In this jam,he speaks majorly about how a lady amazes him so much and he wants to be her Terminator. All I can say to Asake is, take it easy with this your plan 👀
3. Common Person: The humility in this song gives me goosebumps. It is a call to look inwards and convince yourself that you have the capacity to make yourself feel special. African Giant indeed gave us a vibe we’re not so used to and it brought smiles upon our faces.
4. Girlfriend: I’m not supporting Ruger’s words in this song but I just can’t help it. In this record, Ruger highlights the cheating nature of a man who has owned that nature of his. If you have watched the music video, the dance steps will make you love the song even more and if you haven’t, it’s available on YouTube.
5. Overload(Overdose): Did you think the Mavins were done? Think again because Mavins comeback is a bomb! The artists sing about their strong emotions for a woman but in Ayra Starr’s case, she’s talking about a man. They love him/her deeply and it is excess, this is where the song title originated from.
6. Machala: As a wizkid FC, this song is special. Machala is a nickname for the Nigerian superstar, Wizkid and Caterefe, the artist, is a dedicated fan of Wizkid and this song was out of appreciation for the artist (Wizkid)
7. For My Hand: First of all, who wants to get married this Saturday? I want this track to be played at the wedding. Comment “I’m Ready” in the comment box and I will interview who I will be getting married to. Now back to the song, Ed Sheeran, who we know most times, is a lover boy so you guessed right if you thought this collaboration with Burna boy was a love song.
8. Buga: As a Nigerian, I’m guessing this is your mum’s,aunty’s or even your dad’s current jam. This might just be the only secular song they know or can sing. Buga means to flaunt your success unapologetically. Just letting people know that you’ve worked so hard and you deserve to celebrate your success. In a nutshell, give yourself some accolades, you’re doing well!
9. Electricity: All I can say is that, Pheelz and Davido found the best title to give to the song because it’s ELECTRIFYING.
10. It’s Plenty: Damini was intentional about this album and what I love specifically about this song is how it encourages enjoyment to it’s fullest.
