We all know that our rebel gang leader, Tems is a superstar and is all concerned about giving us hits. It may seem as though others are beginning to realize this and by others, I mean British GQ.
British GQ featured her on her new magazine edition and it got the world buzzing. During the interview, Ms. Openiyi narrated her experience recording each song that made it to top charts and the best part of it when she was featured on Future’s album.
Asides her music career, she spoke on her experiences meeting other celebrities she admired like Rihanna and getting recognition from Adele,SZA,Barack Obama.
She revealed never been heard topics about herself. Apparently her father is British and she lived in London for a couple of years then moved back to Lagos when her parents divorced where she lived in a one bedroom apartment with her mum and brother, Tunji. She attended Monash University in Johannesburg, South Africa where she settled for Economics but started making music during her spare time. After the university, she moved back to Lagos and decided to get a job in the digital marketing field which she didn’t like and decided to face her passion, Music.
She shared her difficulties not from the music industry but from her life because she had to struggle financially and no one around her could understand why she would leave her job to become a musician. Regardless of everything, she encouraged herself and began her music career irrespective of her low self esteem or financial problems.
