African influence has been one of the most prominent traits in world music. Being a music lover, you must know about the faces that are yet to influence the course of world music. Here are the names of incredibly underground artists who are impacting African music greatly with their unique and charming musical qualities.

Azawi (UGANDA)

In the early days of her career as a dancer, Azawi became a songwriter who wrote songs for the likes of Eddy Kenzo. Her career took a turn when she recorded and released ‘Quinamino’ in 2020. She is now a highly recognized face in the Ugandan music scene and over the course of her 3-year musical career, she has collaborated with big names like Nigeria’s Chike and DjNeptune.

Known as a child prodigy, Rapcha got in the music scene with his rap verses at a young age of 11. The Tanzanian rapper’s career took off shortly after the release of ‘Lissa’, a single off his debut album Wanangu 99 which was released to critical acclaim in 2021. His music is heavily rooted in an endearing consciousness that resonates through his lyrics and melodies. A talented and vibrant act, Rapcha is part of the refreshing voices vitalizing Tanzania and ready to take over the African Music scene.

Born as Mukapu Sitali, Uchii is an R&B and Pop artist hailing from Lusaka, Zambia. The Zambian singer’s career took off shortly after releasing her first song titled ‘Nauseous’ in May, 2020. Uchii’s raw soulful energy explores a fusion of alternative R&B and Hip Hop genres. Her music influences includes; Summer Walker, Aaliya, Tems and Lauren Hill.

Natse (NIGERIA)

Starting off his career as a model and making his acting debut as Reggie in a Netflix original teen-drama-series Far From Home. This Nigerian is definitely one to look out for, now referred as Nigeria’s sweetheart, Natse just proved to his followers that he’s not just a sweetheart but a music sweetheart when it comes to the mic and pen game after dropping his debut single titled ‘Obsessed’.

DintleontheTrack (BOTSWANA)

Dintle Balole AKA Dintleonthetrack in the music spaces is a 20 something year old Producer, Artist and Songwriter based in Gaborone, Botswana. Stepping into the music scene as a DJ in 2012 then transitioned into a producer in 2014, he finally got exposure in 2018 after releasing a song as a recording artist titled ‘Badman Ting’. With his music being inspired by real life events, he gets his music inspiration from Tory Lanez, Justin Bieber and Travis Scott. Dintle adds his own elements such as log drum and changes his delivery of the songs.

Bruce The 1ST (RWANDA)

Born June 14th 2002, Bruce the 1st began his musical career in 2020 known for his lyrics and style of rapping, he has become a fan favorite in the Rwandan music spaces with over 29K followers on his Instagram, he is surely one rapper you should include on your playlists with his single titled ‘UP UP’.
